  • The Jayhawks - I remember one night I stayed up until past three listening to Rainy Day Music a couple times through. That was a good night.
  • Dion DiMucci - What you don't know about Dion is how much Lou Reed and I both love him. I cannot be sad when I hear this man sing.

  • Bel*Air Studios - Where I record my albums - run by the wonderful Jason NeSmith. A musician's home away from home
  • Orange Hat - Grab your bendy! Atlanta's best twisted pop band
  • Sue Witty - Great energy, great songwriting, world-travelled and down-to-Earth. I love playing shows with Sue.
  • The Swear - formerly Atlanta grrrl band Alastor - really rockin' friends of mine
  • Sonia Tetlow - Art + Fury = the beauty of Sonia Tetlow. Spellbinding.
  • Cowboy Mouth - Sonia is currently the bassist for this rockin' N'awlins band
  • Melanie Hammet - Amazing lyrics, stellar songwriting, and a great friend from Atlanta. Check out her album Map of Glass
  • Big Fish Ensemble - One of my favorite bands for many years running
  • Kenny Howes - The powerpopilicious Mr. Kenny Howes, esq.
  • Ceiling Fan - I have never ever been disappointed by this band. They just flat rock.
  • Primrose Studios - Formerly the Amalgamated Violin Company. They make great fiddles.
  • Zeus Henderson - Twisted pop genius and bassman extraordinare
  • Jude Stevens - The indie-rock alter-ego of my pal Pete Delorenzo. His music is wicked good. Tasty lo-fi pop.
  • Stephanie Morris - Chicago-based songstress aquaintance o' mine - You might've heard me do her song "White Sands"
  • Troy Bronsink - Atlanta-based, blues 'n' jazz inspired, the best haircut in town, love 'm yes I do
  • The Shut-Ups - Power-pop with a twist(ed). Repeat after me: "Other bands are lame..."
  • Jen Wallwork Dominguez - Nashville-based folk rock with great melodies and evocative lyrics

  • SPEBSQSA - The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, of course.

  • Krazy Kat - George Herriman's surreal masterpiece.

  • ILAM Episode Guide - with the complete runs of both the East and West Coast series
  • The ILAM Companion - A volume of lore and back-stories about the best radio show ever, and the man who created it, published in 2003
  • Fu Manchu - Sax Rohmer's "fiend incarnate" who set out to rule the world through terror long before Osama or Saddam
  • Chandu the Magician - Another serialized battle against a would-be world dictator, the evil ROXOR. I'm looking for a better site - but here is an episode log

    Film and Television

  • Smallville - The only TV show I currently watch. And I watch it fanatically.
  • 24 - I also watch this show fanatically, but on DVD, so the above statement still holds, Nyah.
  • Carnivale - my claim to only watch one TV show is becoming increasingly less accurate. Oops.
  • Freaks and Geeks - Terri told me about this one - a great show
  • Fritz Lang - Excellent background site with links maintained by the British Film Institute
  • Alphaville - Jean-Luc Godard's surreal sci-fi/noir masterpiece. Quite nearly my favorite film (see next)
  • F for Fake - Much maligned, often misunderstood: Orson Welles' last film, and my current cinematic favorite
  • V for Vendetta - 'Remember, remember the Fifth of November...' I cannot believe this movie is being made. I can't wait.
  • The Prisoner - Perhaps the best - and most subversive - show ever to air on television
  • The Six of One - The Prisoner appreciation society. Be Seeing You.
  • Christopher Walken - from The Dead Zone to 'more cowbell!', this guy is one whacked dude. I love 'm.
  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force - A WIKIpedia for this really bizzare show which I love
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Oh, Creepy Girl, will you be mine before movie sign?
  • Kino Video - Great online catalogue of foreign and avant-garde cinema

  • Frederic Jameson was so right - This is the best definition I've found so far for the term 'Postmodern.' With apologies to Bob Perelman: 'If it tastes good, we eat it.'
  • Human Upgrades - I do not do not do not know what to think about this. Really. I mean, really.
  • Crazy Horses - It is a law of nature: The Osmonds Should Not Rock. And yet, perhaps...
  • Lazy Sunday - The Chronic (what??!)cles of Narnia, yo.
  • Straight Outta Compton - the sensitive acoustic version
  • Eugene Mirman - this is perhaps the creepiest thing I have ever seen online
